How many cellulite "cures" have you tried?

Unfortunately for women, cellulite affects most of us who are over the age 20. While no one knows the exact cause of cellulite, since it usually does not affect men, hormones are thought to play a major role. However, poor circulation and lymphatic congestion, together with a weakening of connective tissues that allows fat herniation are thought to play a role.

History

Discovered in 1952 by French Physician Dr. Michel Pistor, mesotherapy (also known as meso-lipotherapy or lipodissolve) is the practice of painlessly injecting small amounts of medications, amino acids, vitamins and minerals into the fat and connective tissue that makes up the middle layer of skin called the mesoderm. The technique was first used to treat such conditions as vascular diseases, sports trauma, infectious diseases, rheumatologic diseases, and to improve circulation.

Soon after its discovery, physicians started using the technique for aesthetic improvements. Mesotherapy has a variety of applications: spot fat reduction, cellulite reduction, hair rejuvenation, scar revision, improvement of the quality and tone of skin and the reduction of wrinkles.

Safety

Meso-lipotherapy is a cutting edge alternative to liposuction, plastic surgery and other invasive cosmetic procedures. Thousands of patients around the world have benefited from these treatments.

Although Meso-lipotherapy can be used on a very overweight person, a person with limited areas of fat can lose inches more economically than a person who may first require a weight loss program before beginning Meso-Lipotherapy. Ideally, a patient will be within thirty pounds of their preferred weight before attempting Meso-Lipotherapy.

Changing Body Contours

What does not cause cellulite is obesity. Culturally, cellulite is often associated with excess weight, but the two are not linked. Cellulite can be classified into four stages, based upon the dimpled or "cottage cheese" appearance of the area while standing, laying, and pinching the skin. Meso-Lipotherapy treatment is combined with other treatment modalities to dissolve excess fat, improve circulation, strengthen connective tissues, and promote lymphatic drainage.

Meso-Lipotherapy bridges the gap between health and appearance by allowing us to safely shape bodies by eliminating unwanted fat and unsightly cellulite. It is particularly frustrating for a person to lose a considerable amount of weight and still have areas of their body with excessive fatty deposits - love handles, tummy rolls, saddlebags, and cellulite. Even in people with normal weight, these cosmetic flaws can take a toll on self-esteem and lower the quality of life, especially in today's appearance-conscious society.
