"The Doctors" TV Features Newest Wrinkle Relaxer: Xeomin®
Xeomin® is the newest botulinum toxin to receive FDA approval to treat moderate to severe frown and facial lines. A recent episode of ABC’s “The Doctors” took a closer look at this newest Botox® Alternative.
Merz’s Aesthetics, (The maker of Xeomin®) offers patients a third choice — in addition to Botox® and Dysport® — for those wanting to look younger without surgery. Xeomin® works in the same way as Botox® and Dysport®, with a few differences.
Elizabeth VanderVeer Board Certified Medical Doctor & President of VanderVeer Center in Portland, OR states that “The major difference is in the manufacturing process. All proteins are removed from Xeomin®, so potentially there could be fewer incidences of adverse events that could occur with this toxin.”
“My patients are very happy with Xeomin® I have been seeing more patients wanting to try this new product and hearing amazing testimonials about Xeomin®”, according to Dr. VanderVeer, who says “The results are very natural, and like other toxins, Xeomin® has a very low side effect profile.”
About 3 million botulinum toxin treatments are performed each year in the United States.
Dr. Elizabeth VanderVeer, President and Medical Director at VanderVeer Center in Portland, Oregon, have been selected as one of the first medical facilities in the country to bring this amazing wrinkle reducer to her patients. “I absolutely love this new wrinkle relaxer! (Botox® alternative) I noticed results in just a few hours and it looks and feels soft and natural.” According to Dr. VanderVeer
Does Xeomin® last as long as Botox®?
Xeomin® lasts about the same amount of time as Botox® and Dysport®, which is usually between 12 to 16 weeks. Dr. VanderVeer says that most of her patients only come in about two to three times a year for botulinum toxin treatments.
When will you see results?
Xeomin®, Botox® and Dysport® are not like dermal fillers, such as Juvederm®, Restylane® (which just got FDA approved for Lip enhancement), Radiesse®, or Perlane®, and results are not seen immediately. Xeomin® takes just a few hours to see results. The maximum effect is seen in about five to seven days.
Xeomin® is has been available at VanderVeer Center in Portland Oregon since November of 2011 and VanderVeer Center is offering a limited time offer of an extra $50 off until March 29th 2012.
